Understand How Incredible Your Own Mind Power Is

Your mind is an incredibly powerful thing, and it's actually a magnet to things that happen in your life. What you think and see is eventually what you're going to attract. The Law of Attraction deals with this, specifically the power of your own mind. Basically, the Law of Attraction says that, 'As you think, so shall you be.' In other words, if you think something is going to happen to you, eventually it probably will. You can make that work in your favor, because you can change your mind to the positive -- but you have to think, envision, feel, literally embody it before it can happen. It's going to take some practice to do this, likely, but that's true of anything you're going to get good at. Once you know how to use it, though, you'll see that the power of your mind is just astonishing.

And by the way, this is something that we all have. We all have the ability to use our mind's power to the best of our ability and outcomes. However, most of us don't because we just don't think we can. Yet, researchers have shown that we only use about 10% of our brainpower. Don't you think that's crazy? Most of us stick with the tried and true, things we only know, and that's what we live with. And that may be why we feel like we're having a lot of trouble. We may think negatively because we don't believe that what we want to have can actually be ours. So what that means is that we continue to attract more negative things instead of more positive things. However, if you take a look at it honestly, you'll know that the life you have in front of you is the one you've thought about and attracted to you.

But here's the simple truth. Reality first happens within your mind. Everything you've gotten to this point has been as a result of how you think. And while it's been said that everyone has some extra sensory skill or power, or that they are 'psychic,' in fact, these people really only practice an ability we have, too, which is using their advanced mind power capabilities. If you want something in life, you have to think that you can have it. And of course, if you think only the bad is going to happen, then that's what you'll end up with, too.

I can hear you asking, 'But what can I do to change things?' And the fact is, you can begin to increase your mind's power by doing several things. First of all, do something called visualization. This very powerful technique can help you focus and develop your current mind power state, so that you can literally 'flip the switch' and learn how to use it -- and learn how to increase it, too.

When you visualize, simply sit down and create pictures and images in your mind's eye. This can help you a manifest these images in reality. First, though, you have to start with your subconscious. The subconscious mind is the most powerful tool you have, and bring what is in your subconscious mind into reality the way nothing else can. However, the drawback to this is that you have to think positive in order to have positive things come to you. Therefore, it's best to 'practice' the way that you want to think and live before you actually try to do this.

One good way to start doing this is to write down everything you want on paper, as though you were telling a story (or if you can't write, doing it as a checklist can be fine, too). Write down the goals you want to achieve, so that you have something to shoot for. Then, create the visions you have around those goals. When you write things down, they're harder to simply dismiss later as so much fantasy and instead become more concrete. Do this several times a day until you begin to 'live' in the reality you eventually want to have -- in your mind's eye.

You can also use affirmations to increase your mind power. Affirmations are simply little, encouraging positive sayings that you can save yourself throughout the day. It can be about anything. For example, if you want to lose 10 pounds, you can say something to the effect of, 'I'm losing the extra weight effortlessly and easily.' As you continue to say this, you may notice that truly, the weight is actually coming off pretty easily. It'll just naturally start to happen. And it doesn't matter if it's something you're not used to it first. If you do it for 28 days, you'll notice that it'll start to become a habit.

There's also another technique you can use to develop your mind's power, called 'entrainment.' Entrainment is simply synchronization of brain waves using different frequencies through audio technology. Our brains are naturally attuned to doing several different things, one of which is to heal themselves. You can tap into this power even more by using this kind of advanced audio-based technology. You can also enhance your memory and bring into effect the psychic powers you have, which already exist. This is a pretty advanced procedure, but it does work.

Hypnosis, too, is another powerful way to develop your mind's power. Many people have used it successfully, for example, to quit smoking. The way it works for this is that they simply went to a trained hypnotist who was able to help them access their subconscious and then 'feed' them suggestions that told them smoking wasn't fun anymore, they didn't crave nicotine anymore, smoking made them feel ill, and so on. Like any kind of subconscious 'training,' the hypnosis doesn't usually work instantly, but it does work as long as it's done by somebody who knows what they're doing. Eventually, after several sessions, smokers do indeed have success and can quit by truly really quashing the desire to smoke because their subconscious has also let go of it. The hypnotist was successful in doing this because they got in touch with the person's subconscious and enabled it to believe that the person in question could quit smoking.

So as you can see, everyone has this type of mind power, but they just have to believe in their abilities. It may not happen overnight, but you can change your life and turn things around if they're not going so well for you. To do this, you have to be able to direct your energies into the universe and know that what comes back to you is what you have manifested. It all starts with your subconscious mind, and only you can harness the mind power you have. How much do you think you have?

Personal Development: A Goal to Reach For!

In our world of time crunches, we manage to find time to notice our children's life patterns, the growing patterns of our plants and even the schedule and pattern of our next door neighbors, but we can not seem to find the time to notice our own personal patterns. Our personal development does not stop because we grow older. On the contrary, it should grow and expand as we become more wise.

Positivity is key. The more positive we are as people, the more we will be able to adapt our lives to the situations that present themselves. It is important to notice all of the blessings around us and smile at every chance throughout the day. That smile can bring joy to the heart and hep to retrain the mind that happiness is natural and it is a healthy way to start every day.

Goal setting is important for two reasons. One is if you write a goal on paper you are more likely to remember it and work toward it. If you just let it cross your mind you may not remember to work on it later. Every small goal you accomplish moves you forward and enriches your life. The other reason goal setting is so important is that you can SEE it when it's done and acknowledge your achievement. Recognizing your successes and congratulating yourself motivates you to reach for more.

Recognizing you. A person who is self aware is a person who understands how life can be changed for the better. Self awareness is almost like an open window just screaming for you to look in and notice the areas that need improvement.

Take back that time. Everyone on earth needs time management in order to develop beyond what they are today. Time management skills are one of the few personal development tools that are universal and are needed by all.

Time management leads us to balance. It is constant work to maintain balance between career and home, work and play, spouse and parent, etc. Plan more. Allow time for each role you play in life and stick to it.

Returning home. When you feel as though you have not focused enough on yourself, eating right, exercise and learning to treat yourself can mean all the world. These three parts of personal development will have the largest impact on YOU!

It is not too late to change some bad habits and implement some good ones on our journey of personal development. Our happiness, and the success and happiness of those who need us, is dependent upon it.

"Don't Go Through Life, Grow Through Life-" Eric Butterworth.

Going through life is easy. It may not be much fun or help you to find fulfilment, but the path of least resistance is never hard to take. But where will it lead you? Bringing out your best, developing your potential, living your best life...need effort and perseverance.
Some people start well. Projects, businesses, ideas, schemes, they brim with creative energy and enthusiasm. You know the type. All excited about the latest and greatest thing. Everything they start is going to be the answer. This time it will be different.
But when you meet them again a few weeks later, the project has ground to a halt. "Oh that," they say when you mention it. "That was all right, but wait till you hear about this!" and off they go.
After a while, their friends become a little jaded. They have heard enough about the next new thing. They want to hear that the project has grown, something solid is happening, things are progressing.
Life is not just about sowing seeds. Remember that famous parable? Scattering seeds all over the place may look very creative. But if the seed does not take root and grow, then the sower has wasted his time and is just "going" through life. It is important to take one's personal development seriously, and make choices about where and how to focus the power of attention. So practice persevering, seeing things through, completing tasks in spite of distractions. That is the way of growth, and will attract the great results you desire.

Power Visualization Can Create the Body of Your Dreams

Bookmark and Share

In 1988 I heard Dr. Dennis Waitley say, If you go there in the mind, youll go there in the body every time. He followed that with a story about Olympic champions that visualized themselves pole vaulting or walking the balance bar perfectly before they ever walked out on the floor to compete. When their pulse and respiration were monitored these increased the same as they would if they were actually performing physically. Their body went along with their mind. How can that help us create the body we want?

Think of it, powerful visualizations create real results in the body. So, if we see ourselves as less than, as overweight, having scrawny legs, no breasts, no waist line, unhealthy, etc; then, that is what we continue to create day after day. To create the new you, see yourself as what you want to feel and look like in the body, make it real, create a sentient rich picture that could make you cry for joy and appreciation. Be in the great new body NOW.

Jack Canfield is a mentor and friend. In his book, The Success Principles he recommends using the time before sleep and the time before getting out of bed in the morning as prime creation times. Go over goals, recreate things from your day that could have had a better outcome, put yourself in that new car or home or job or new business. Give yourself the body you'd love to have. If you're a new mother, see all the baby weight gone and yourself in a new bikini the way you want to look. If you're a body builder, see yourself rippled and in the greatest physical shape of your life. The Success Principles is a great book, a must have for deciding upon and creating the life you want to have.

Without gratitude things will not only stay the same, they will seem to get worse. Begin now to appreciate every tiny thing you can imagine about Being You. If the list seems small, make it up until it feels so sentient rich you are actually feeling better about yourself. This entire process of re-creation depends on the recognition of the power of the unconscious mind. If you were told repeatedly that you were too skinny or fat or any other message when you were small, your subconscious mind, that rudder of your ship, took it as a command. It accepts messages as real when we are small. If you believed those messages then, you can take your power back right now and reprogram for the life and the body you desire now.

Imagine what it would FEEL like to be different, better in some way, better to you that is. Allow the feeling of the new you to wash over you. Let go of self-doubt, blame, shame or shoulds and just receive what your mind is conceiving. Implement new and healthy habits that will make concrete your decisions in the world of form. Detach from the outcome and begin now to enjoy the new you. Decide what you want and create it now.

Create the body of your dreams and make it happen. Brain Science supports your right to create on every level; and Master Teachers all over the planet are proving it is so.

Adventures in the Leaves

The other day, my wife Dawn and I did what many fall tourists in New England do. We took a leisurely drive around Vermont and watched the chlorophyll drain out of the leaves. The reds, yellows and oranges in early October are truly something to behold, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely: talking, laughing and oohing and aahing our way around a good section of what we call the "Northeast Kingdom."

If you flattened out all the hills and mountains, Vermont would be a fairly good-sized state. But since it's hardly flat, it ranks down with the smallest of the fifty. Nonetheless, there are myriad back roads-roads that are easy to find, but not always so easy to find your way out of. Now I have a fairly keen sense of direction, and I almost always knew-at least roughly-where we were. Regardless, there were a number of times that our exact location was unknown until we emerged onto a road or scene that was more familiar. It was fun.

It occurred to me that in life, even though it's important to a plan as to where we're going and equally important to have a sense of where we are, if we know exactly where we're going, and precisely what's going to happen, there's no drama-no adventure.

In our trek around the highways and bi-ways of northern Vermont, we were willing to be a little lost because it added to the wonder of the experience. The objective was clear, but the plan was flexible. In other words, "set your goals in concrete and your plans in sand."

I fear that too many people-myself included-have our lives so well scheduled and so tightly controlled, that we forsake some of the spontaneous things that could add more spice, adventure and enjoyment. As I look back over my life, many of the things I labeled catastrophes turned out to be the proverbial blessing in disguise. Many of the things I initially looked upon as detours and delays added immeasurable quality to the journey.

I'm reminded of the story of the man who was discouraged and prayed that life would be easier and that he could win in every endeavor. One day, he was visited by an angel and his prayers were answered. Everything he touched turned to gold. No matter what he tried, it worked. Everything he wanted, he received-with no struggle and no fear of the end result. But, alas, he found himself miserable. Life was too predictable-like watching a taped football game to which you already know the outcome, it lacks excitement.

In a short while, the man prayed again-this time to be relieved of his wish. A second time he was visited by the angel, and the man said he would rather go to hell than continue with this "curse." The angel replied, "My son, hell is where you've been since we were last together."

We need to welcome the challenges and unknowns that come our way. They're what make us stronger and build our character. They are what provide the drama-the comedies and the tragedies-of our lives.

3 Simple Ways to Save an Hour a Day

Bookmark and Share
Author:

Scrolling through junk emails? Frantically searching for a logins and password you can't remember? Read on to get a few helpful hints that will help you save an hour a day, the simple way.

#1 - Organize your many passwords and logins to keep them easily accessible. Use an address book to do just that. Start by making a 'new contact' for each of your on-line accounts (i.e. frequent flier account, business email accounts, etc). Record pertinent information, such as the URL, password, login and account number, in the notes section under the contact heading. Be sure to set up a code to protect this information. For example, add two numbers and two letters to the beginning and end each password. Your real passwords will be obvious to you, but not to anyone else.

#2 - Simplify Your Email Inbox! There are three types of email: 1. Junk mail. 2. Emails that require an immediate response or action. 3. Emails you want to read or are interesting in content (but do not require immediate action).

You know what junk email is, so immediately delete it and then open and read the urgent emails, if you can. Make a "To Read" folder for the emails you find interesting but are not urgent in matter. Use email folders to continue the organization and make it your goal to clear out your inbox at the end of every business day when possible. If you can't respond fully to an urgent email, make an "Urgent" folder and make it a priority. Delete forwards and don't feel obligated to read or even open them. If you are interested in reading a certain email forward, but don't have time at the moment, use that "To Read" folder. Don't put urgent emails in that folder, better yet, send a personalized response right away and stop responding when an interchange has served its purpose. Diligently go through your "To-Read" folder and clean it out at the end of the work week.

#3 - Try an experiment of scheduling your To-Do List into your daily calendar. For example, if one of your To-Do List items is "find a tree-trimming service", than put it into your calendar as an appointment - "Thursday, 10:00am-10:15am, find tree trimming service". Many things on your list will take less than 15 minutes, but schedule each such item for 15 minutes anyway. You will have about 12 "to do" items scheduled in a 3-hour time period, you will probably accomplish everything on the list early and will have had time to handle interruptions. Generally speaking, however much time you give yourself to complete a specific task is how much time it will take. If you give yourself two hours, you will probably get the project or list of small "to-do's" done in two hours. If you give yourself all day, it will most likely take you all day.

When you focus your energy and give yourself a little deadline, you will get more done in less time and usually do it better. It's like finishing that 5-page college research paper in one night.

Dressing For Success

Bookmark and Share
Author:

Dressing oneself for great success is a well known phrase that you hear when entering the business world and trying to make a name for oneself. Everyone at the top of their profession knows the keys to dressing oneself for great success. These people know that you have to attire for the situation and that you have to wear clothing that is appropriate. Successful people know how to attire right.

Dressing yourself for success is not only about choosing the right clothes. It involves understanding what is appropriate and what is not for the business setting. It also involves understanding about your overall appearance. A piece of clothing is just that - one piece of clothing. It does not make an outfit. You have to understand how to put together outfits that give you a polished and professional appearance.

The easiest way to plan out your business wardrobe is to find key pieces that you could possibly mix and match. This will not only save you money, but allow you to easily put together outfits each day. There are some key pieces that you should buy to start your business wardrobe. For women these include a suit with pants and a skirt, a white button up attire shirt, a attire sweater and business shoes. For men the basics include a complete suit with pants, jacket, shirt and tie.

The key to choosing items for your business wardrobe is to think about the attire code for your workplace. Some work places adopt a business casual look while others are strictly professional. No matter what you choose to wear it should follow the basic attire code. Also, not matter what type of atmosphere you have at your office you should always be dressing oneself conservatively.

Another key to dressing yourself for success is paying attention to the little things. Your outfit is not the only thing that plays into your look. You also need to consider your makeup and fragrances that you wear. Also think about your hairstyle. Again, as with your articles of clothing, always take a conservative approach.

Dressing oneself for great success does not mean that you have to abandon your personal style. You could possibly still interject your own sense of style into your wardrobe so that you not only look professional, but comfortable. If you feel uncomfortable in your clothing this will effect your persona. If you are a bit of a free spirit then add a cute broach or necklace to your outfit. You could possibly find many professional clothing options in many different styles. Choose what fits right on you and what feels right to you.

Remember that when dressing oneself for great success you have to always be thinking about the business atmosphere. What you wear at work may not be at all like what you wear outside of work. You have a professional persona to uphold and you want that to reflect your business attitude. Many people make well known mistakes that could possibly ruin their overall business images. Well known mistakes include wearing too much make up, not dressing oneself conservatively, wearing wrinkled clothes, having inappropriate jewelry and not wearing clothes that fit. Avoid these mistakes and follow the other advice given here and you should be well on your way to dressing oneself for great success.

You may wonder why it is so important to create a professional outward appearance. The fact is that people judge others on first appearance. You have to always be presenting yourself in the best light possible by giving off a professional and polished image. By dressing for success people will think of you as a success and that will help you to further yourself in the business world.

Living in the Moment - Here and Now is All We Have.

In our chaotic modern society, most people spend their entire life in a past that no longer exists or a future that may never be real. Regret, anxiety, and displacement through fantasy are the norm in most cultures at the time of this writing. The result is rampant stress-related illness and death, a soaring suicide and depression rate, and the widespread feelings of loss and disconnection so many people can relate to.
But take heart in knowing that life absolutely does not need to be this way on either the individual or collective levels! The life experience is an incredible journey, filled with surprise, satisfaction, and expansion on all levels. All one needs to do is become aware of the present moment and sustain this awareness long-term. When you learn to be still and accept what this moment has to offer, you find peace, clarity, spontaneous joy, and inspiration.
These energies are always present, but you can't hear or connect with them over the clamor and chaos of your thought-driven reality. Answer this question honestly: Have you ever really solved any perceived problem by fretting over it and worrying constantly? More likely you make things worse when you do this. Here's another one: Have you ever successfully traveled backwards in time to alter an embarrassing past event? If so I urge you to contact the nearest scientific research facility immediately and set up an interview!
The truth, of course, is that you have never changed the past by obsessing over it. Wallowing in regret does nothing more than diminish your involvement in the present moment and deteriorate your overall enjoyment of life. Right now, in this present moment, reality unfolds. We can remember the past and plan for the future, and there's nothing intrinsically wrong with doing so, but we can only live in the now. At first, this sounds like some sort of work order or resignation to fact. But the opposite is true. Embracing the present moment is the only way to live a truly exciting, refreshing life.
Living in the now connects you with your true self and with the faculties of the higher consciousness. You'll harness the powers of intuition and consistent inspiration when you immerse yourself in the present. In fact you will likely discover a completely new person within the self you thought you knew. Being continuously aware of the moment also allows for full engagement in your relationships.
Two people cannot fully connect when they are both lost in the world of past and/or future thinking. But when just one individual is clear and grounded in the now the entire relationship can obtain a more genuine quality. And certainly if you have children in your care you will be doing them a wonderful service by teaching them to honor and live within the present moment.
Day dreaming is a positive exercise in moderation, but today's youth are often mesmerized by hours of animated "entertainment" and thus severely disconnected from the real now. All of humanity's hopes, dreams, and potential victories exist right here, right now, in this moment.
Trying to hide our faces from our greatness or seeking to dwell in a state of past/future drama will only detract from our possible enlightenment, individually and as a society. Right now is exactly what we have to work with. And it is brilliantly more than enough to achieve everything we could possibly desire.

Setting Your Mind On Your Goal

A simple story, which illustrates many lessons. Patience, perseverance, not worrying about what others think, being creative, and of course the principle of residual income. Creating the "pipeline" is not easy, but it has great long term benefits. Our friends may not understand. Are you strong enough to make your own decisions and keep your mind on your goal, no matter how challenging this is?

Zig Ziglar, well known for his very enthusiastic and powerful speaking style, recently published his new book "Embrace the Struggle." He had a fall downstairs which was a tremendous set back. But, inspired by his faith and commitment to continuing to live life to the full, he used this "problem" to take his personal development to a deeper level.

He harvested a blessing from this situation and he is using it to inspire others. It is never too late to fulfill your potential....Zig Ziglar is 82 years old and still travelling far and wide to bring inspiration to others. You do not have to be Zig...but as Martin Luther King said " Everyone can be great because everyone can serve."

Self Improvement- 7 Secrets You Need to Know.

1. Self improvement is natural to human beings. Otherwise we would never get out of the cradle! We have an innate programming that allows us to expand and grow. Just because we reach physical and legal maturity, it does not mean that we should sit back and just drift. There is always more to discover and more potential to develop. It helps everybody for each person to achieve more of their potential.

2 Pain and Pleasure are both great motivators. Find which one works best for you. If you are too keen on comfort, this will prevent you being willing to change and take action. So if you don't change, what will be the result? Face this question and it may allow you to feel enough pain to decide to take action now. Or you be realize that you want to achieve something so much that you will push through your resistance.

3. Make friends with your fear. It is a good friend, but a poor master. Personal development without fear is impossible.  Very few people have died of fear! Yet many people avoid it as if it is their worst enemy. That is one reason that people walk on hot coals. They learn that if they go through to the other side of fear, they can achieve great things. You can't do a firewalk every day, but it is great to do at least one thing that takes you out of your comfort zone.

4. Notice what you are interested in. Schools teach us that we have to learn a range of subjects whether we are interested in them or not. This has left many people in a state of passivity, and not respecting themselves. It is OK not to be interested in something...what matters is not being a mediocre all rounder, but find what fascinates you, as you probably have a gift for it as well. That is how the world works.

5. Be kind to yourself. Even if you have a gift in something, you won't always be good at it right away. Have patience. Say encouraging things to yourself, use affirmations, even a simple one like "It is OK to make mistakes." Allow yourself time to relax and have fun, even when in the middle of a major challenge.

6. Remember your brain has two sides and just for fun, make sure you use them both! You may be naturally right brained, creative and intuitive, but without some logic and structure, eg making lists and planning a task, you will become overwhelmed, confused and discouraged. But with only lists and plans, the spark and the creativity can be squeezed out of your life. Remember how a child learns by play.

7. Celebrate and reward yourself. Self improvement is work, although it is often fun and fulfilling as well. Noticing your progress and taking the time to acknowledge it will give you encouragement to keep going or to start something new. Without reward or self recognition, you could just burn out too soon.

More To Life Than Shoes ... Inspiring Women - Starting a Business Later in Life

More To Life Than Shoes ... Inspiring Women - Starting a Business Later in Life: "A recipe for success

Overall, statistics show that in the UK, women at any age are less than half as likely as men to be involved in start-ups. ( According to UK-wide research by Barclays Bank, men aged 55 and over are now responsible for up to 26,000 start-ups a year, and women only 7000.) But is this a result of impenetrable barriers to entry? Does this mean that older women need special treatment and priviledges? I tend to think not. By and large all that older women need is:

* To believe in ourselves- it's generally in the area of confidence and risk-taking that women perform less well compared to men.
* To find realistic mentors and role models as evidence that ‘it can be done' - and done by ordinary women, not high-powered celebrities.
* To have a benchmark of successful entrepreneurship amongst older women (or any women) as being the norm, rather than the exception.

Far from thinking that we ought to fade gracefully into the background, many women over 50 are grasping the opportunity to fulfil our personal ambitions and make a success of ourselves at an age when many men are happy to wind down. If you fancy being one of them, then don't delay any longer - grasp the nettle and go for it!"

Personal Development Plan Guide By Annette H. Hill Platinum Quality Author

Are you one of those people who want to be assured of a productive future? Do you want to be able to reach the goals you have set for yourself at the right time? Do you want to live a fulfilling and rewarding life? Having a personal development plan is the key to all these.
A personal development plan serves many purposes. Firstly, it serves as your ultimate guide in life. Next, it will lead you to the right direction especially when things get rough. It can also motivate and encourage you to reach your dreams. Lastly, it can make you the kind of person you want to be.
How do you start coming up with your own personal development plan?
• Know who you are
How well do you actually know yourself? Are you confident enough to say you know who you are inside and out? Begin your personal development plan by knowing yourself better. Examine yourself so that you may be able to identify clearly what you want to achieve in life.
• Identify your goals
The first step you have to take is to identify your goals. Make a list of all the things you want to achieve in life. However, be careful in setting your goals. Make sure that they are simple, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. Get to know yourself better and examine your needs in life. Personal Development and Success- How to See "Failure."

Everything that happens to us happens on purpose. And most times, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both personal development and success.

Say this to yourself ... better yet, print it out and post it in a place where you will see it throughout your daily routine:

I Never See Failure As Failure But Only As:

- A learning experience!

- The negative feedback I need to change the course of my direction!

- The opportunity to develop my sense of humor!

- The opportunity to practice my technique and improve my performance!

- THE GAME I MUST PLAY TO WIN!

I remember watching Patch Adams. It's a great film that will help you improve yourself. Hunter "Patch" Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts - he decided to seek medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward.

His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded person, a schizophrenic and so on. Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realizes he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still wants to become a doctor.

He carries with himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn't only improved himself, but also the lives of the people around him and the quality of life in general. Did he succeed? Absolutely!

So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start?

*Stop thinking and feeling as if you're a failure, because you're not. How can others accept you if you can't accept yourself?

*When you see gorgeous models on TV, think more of self improvement, not self pity. That isn't reality anyway! Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.

*When people feel down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don't go down with them. They'll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.

*Mistakes are a great way to learn lessons. Don't feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed on your attempt to achieve something. There's always a next time. Make room for self improvement.

*Take things one at a time. Don't expect a black sheep to be renewed in the snap of a finger. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.

*Self improvement results in inner stability, personality development and SUCCESS. It comes from self confidence, self appreciation, self esteem and hard work.

* Set meaningful and achievable goals. If your goals are too far out of whack you will never reach them! Setting attainable goals is one of the keys to success.

*Little things to us may mean BIG things to other people. Sometimes, we don't realize that the little things that we do like a pat on the back, saying "hi" or "hello", greeting someone "good day" or telling Mr. Smith something like "hey, I love your tie!" are simple things that mean so much to other people. When we're being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them.

*When you're willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it doesn't mean that everyone else is doing the same thing. The world is filled with people of different values and attitudes. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, he/she may decline an invitation for self improvement.

You should always remember that there's no such thing as "over night success." If it was easy, wouldn't everyone be doing it? It's a wonderful feeling to hold on to the things that you already have in your possession, but realize that those are just some of the things you once wished for.

A very nice quote says that "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." We are all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, officemates, neighbors ... they are our teachers. When we open our doors for self improvement, we increase our chances on the road of success.

Parenting and Personal Development:The Terrible Twos

Do you have a toddler who wants things done their way or no way ?

It’s finally arrived, your child has reached that age that other parents have warned you about… ‘The Terrible Two’s’

Do you think there’s a way you could control your child behaviour, stop the toddler tantrums and put an end, before it even begins, to the terrible two’s ?

When it comes to parenting, how many times have wehad to resort to bribery for fear of tantrums, screaming, crying or worse, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

We think as parents, we should be able to deal with things naturally, but parenting is a skill which can and must be learned, if we
are to deal with the up’s and down’s of living with toddlers.

As with other skills we’ve learned along the way, with lots of practice and repetition, you can also learn the skill of parenting, which you can build upon and improve in your arsenal of tools to deal with any situation that your toddler throws at you.

Parenting skills can be adapted and changed to suit differing ages and when it really boils down to it, is for us as parents to actually admit that we don’t have the right skill set to be able to deal with the situation in hand

Yes, put your hand up and say that you are willing to take advise and learn from those that have mastered the skill of dealing with kids of any age and use techniques, to deal with any situation.

Parenting is not a in-built thing and kids as we know, don’t come with instructions, so therefore it is better to be taught from someone who has been there, done that and bought the T-shirt

Believe it or not, the so-called ‘terrible two’s’ is a natural behaviour and a healthy part of growing up and the learning development of child behaviour.

Managing the situation and being able to turn it from a demolition derby into a happy lifestyle, is something that CAN be managed and understanding and applying different techniques, you can get your toddler to do what you want.

By getting these basic skills under your belt, you can also build on them and develop other parenting skills, as your toddler develops.

Investing in learning your parenting skills, you will gain a better understanding of your child, which in turn will help to aid your child’s personal development.

By readjusting our own thinking about the terrible two’s and thinking of it as a way that your child is expressing their own independence, personal development and using it as an opportunity for you to learn additional life skills that will be with you for life.

For your own toolbox of skills you’ll need for handling toddler tears and tantrums, visit: Dealing With The Terrible Two’s

One of the Greatest Fears- Just Another Challenge!

Speaking in public is a huge challenge for many people. But if you don't run away from it, it is a great way to to accelerate your personal development, as well as its many other benefits. Underneath the fear remember there is excitement.

Do you have a talent for public speaking? Have you ever wondered how other people are so comfortable speaking in front of the crowd? Do you wish to be like them? Well, for some individuals they do not see the importance of public speaking skills. They just don't realize its essence to their entire being. But this is a major misconception about the essence of public speaking skills. The main reason why other people show no interest about talking to the crowd is simply because they actually have fear of public speaking. They either get tongue tied or want to faint every time they face the mob.

On the other hand, there are also other individuals who think that public speaking is only for sales and marketing professionals. Hence, they do not even dare to try doing it. But contrary to all these misconceptions, possessing good communication skills can be a factor for career advancement. If you try to notice, those that get quick or faster promotions are staffs that have eloquence and confidence to face the public. Even if they are not that intelligent but once they face the crowd, everyone pays attention to them. This is because of how they converse with their listeners. And speaking to various individuals is very important in any business or other areas.

A concrete example of this is if you are applying for a job. Of course before you are accepted, you have to pass the interview. This is the crucial part when you apply for work. Because this is the final judgment stage whether or not you will be hired, you have to show them your best shot. And the most important skill you need for this is your communication skills. The interviewer will assess you based on how good you communicate with other people, may it be verbal or written. Hence, being able to speak to a person or group of individuals is really imperative to everyone.

This is basically why other smart people are overpowered or defeated by individuals who are good in public speaking. Even if they are packed with intelligence but they are poor in communicating to the public, it is still not enough to put them on the top. It is very essential to know how to express what you think and feel for the people around you. Thus, if you have a difficulty in composing yourself to face them then you can not step up for yourself.

Public speaking skills are not only good for telling something to a large crowd. Keep in mind that your skills in communication and public speaking are related to each other and thus if you conquer your fear of speaking in public you will also enhance your interpersonal communication skills with other people.

Therefore, if you are given a chance to exercise speaking to the public or develop your communication skills, do not let it pass. Grab it and make sure that you maximize the time given to you in learning all the techniques to improve your skills. Public speaking is a talent that you need to use it often to make it better. And this skill will open more opportunities in your career or in your personal life.

Why Importance Of Public Speaking is the best solution to your recurring problem. Get to know the secrets to effective ways on treating phobias. Do not waste your time thinking it over. Get rid of your fears now! Visit Importance Of Public Speaking if you want to get well faster.

When Nothing Seems to Matter, See What Others Have Done to Help Themselves

When nothing seems to matter, you've got to look to see what others have done. I guarantee you that someone before you has weathered a very similar storm to the one that has you "trapped" now. I know you think you are along. I thought I was alone. That no one had ever had the problems I had. But I was utterly wrong on that score. I am glad I was. You will be too.

I thought no one could have had it so bad as I. Now, this is not to diminish your problems in any way. I am sure that for you, they seem insurmountable at times. But I thought the same. I found ways out. Or ways up. However you wish to phrase it.

I started by reading Norman Vincent Peale's The Power of Positive Thinking. Way back when, this book started the self-help revolution. It was not so much that Dr. Peale had gone through hardships himself. It was the true stories he told of people who had. Using a positive attitude, these folks worked their way out. Folks who came from far worse economic circumstances, far worse physically fortunes, far worse mental trials, than I had ever even imagined. They triumphed.

The main reason they did was because they adopted a affirmative posture. But that is not the main point of this article. The point I wish to make here is that when I felt I couldn't go on, I found people who had gone on in far worse situations.

You have got to do the same for yourself. It seems too simple, I know. But when you go looking for yourself, you accomplish two things.

First, you find people who have had it worse than you and have persevered and triumphed. These will inspire you. They will make you say, "If they can do it, so can I."

Second, and actually more important, you will have done something for yourself. You will have taken an initiative that will help you understand yourself. You will have said, "I will not tolerate this in my life any more." When you say that and mean it, you have taken a very, very important step in getting out of whatever it is you feel yourself "trapped" in. And getting out right now.

Seems too simple? Try it beginning in this minute. Search the Internet, for example, for stories of people who have succeeded. Napoleon Hill comes immediately to mind. Read his book, Think and Grow Rich. His book is in the public domain now. Meaning you can read it for free on the Internet.

Start today. When nothing seems to matter, you need to set forth immediately discovering that you are not alone and that you can triumph as have others before you.

Elegant Leader - What Propels You Into Action?

"What do I do with my life?"

We've all been there....feeling stuck. It could be due to feeling overwhelmed, bored, fearful or unhappy. As the elegant leader in your own life, what are you going to do?

Key is finding what will get you unstuck. When you identify how to pull yourself out of the downward spiral, or the 'valley' - you may be able to reduce your time of not being in the zone.

Start by identifying what got you in the slump? When you reflect on it - can you identify a pattern?

Let take a look at an example:

Lulu enjoyed people, and gained energy when she was around others. She could crank out the work and felt in the zone when she was interacting with people. She fell into the valley seldom. But when she worked on completing the quarterly reports that required a lot of analysis, and graphs for the power points she would dig in and get them done - but she hated the task, and it wore her out. She got quiet, and moved slower, she was unengaged...she wasn't happy - time moved slowly.

For Lulu her energy patterns come from people, discussions, working together. Engaging could be her middle name. When that is taken out of her routine, and is replaced by quiet focused work, she in turn loses her energy, or the feeling of not being in the zone - she gets stuck in the valley.

Now what bring you out of the 'valley'? Sometimes this is harder to identify. For Lulu it may be how to turn her project of analysis and charts into something that matches her engaging style. She may challenge herself to adjust the 'normal quarterly's' and put a twist that makes them engaging. A podcast with the quarterly's, or a question/answer trivia that makes the power point engaging, something that gives the presentation a human quotient.

For a less creative twist, accept that the project isn't your favorite, use your efficiency to get it done quickly and effectively - and schedule items that give you energy in advance - they will help pull you out of valley. That's creative time management.

Know the impact and feeling of being in the zone and out of it. Work to identify how to reduce time spent in the valley - and look to see that when you are in a 'valley' and embrace the positive lessons of the 'valley'. Are you more reflective, do you internalize solutions better; are you creative at the point? Find what shines bright in those valleys.

It's OK To Eat More Calories, Study Says - Yahoo! News UK

A report suggests we could eat more calories every day without damaging our health.Previous advice said men should limit their daily intake to 2,500 calories, and women to 2,000.

It seems that the instinct that says "A little of what you fancy does you good" is quite right. So if you are facing change and challenge in many areas of your life, a little bit of comfort eating is not such a problem.

But now scientists say we could be able to increase our intake by 16% - or one cheeseburger a day. That is according to a draft report by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN).

Just don't let the one cheeseburger or the small bar of chocolate become two or three. Use this "naughtiness" allowance as a reward for accomplishing something you have been procrastinating over, and you can enjoy feeling virtuous as well as indulgent. And your self development won't be hindered at all. We have scientific evidence!

When All Else Fails - Find a Way

No one ever dreams of growing up to fail. Our childhood dreams are always built on visions of fantastic situations, from weeks on end at Disneyland to being able to do whatever you want when you want. Dreams are positive. Dreams are filled with the promise of something better. Dreams keep us moving forward and doing our best in order to make them come true. Nightmares, on the other hand, are the exact opposite. You never hear anyone talk about growing up to make a nightmare come true, or wanting to live out their nightmare.

But consider yourself lucky if, at some point during your life journey, you find yourself living inside a nightmare, of having things not turn out the way you hoped.

It may sound crazy, but hear me out. Only when we fail, or suffer, or struggle, do we truly discover what we are capable of doing. Do we truly come face to face with our strengths. Do we truly appreciate what we have because we had to pay a price to get it. This is what life is made of - the struggle, the failure, and overcoming both.

Recently a friend relayed a story to me about a good man who was going through a spell of financial challenges. In today's economy, these sorts of stories are more common than ever, so many readers may identify with what I am about to share. Feeling trapped, this man turned to someone who he believed could loan him enough short-term money to cover his obligations for a couple of months. He was certain this person would be willing to do this since he had a solid relationship with him.

How surprised, shocked, and disappointed he was when the man told him he was not able to help him.
"But I know you will find a way," he told the man. "You will find a way."

In other words, when all else fails...find a way.

Well, you can imagine these were not the words this man wanted to hear, and for several days he tossed and turned over being turned down, wondering what he could have done differently, if there was any way to change the guy's mind...anything. Having exhausted all other loan options, from banks to other connections, this guy was, in the man's mind anyway, the last resort. But the answer was final, and the man indeed had to go out and find a way.

And guess what? He did exactly that. He pushed past his fears and realized he could do whatever it took to break through the blocks and make it. Was it difficult? Absolutely. Did he at times want to give up? Yup. But his determination and unrelenting drive to find a way out of his dilemma were too great, testifying once again to the resiliency and power of the human spirit to survive no matter what the circumstances.

Our dreams become that much more meaningful when we make them come true ourselves, through our own efforts. And they are far richer when we have had to live through a nightmare in order to get back to the dream. I imagine the man in the story my friend told is celebrating his successes today in a way he would not have had they come to him easily and he had not been challenged to "find a way." Indeed, we should all be so lucky to at least once in our lives hear those magic words: When all else fails...find a way.
